Privacy policy

Neon Tower · Last updated: 4 November 2026

Neon Tower is made by Fjellstug ("we"), a company in Sweden, which is responsible for your data. This policy explains what data the game uses, why, and what you can do about it. Questions or requests: support@neontowergame.com.

The game never asks for your name, e-mail address or contacts. The data below is linked to random IDs instead. Under EU law that still counts as personal data, so this policy covers all of it.

What the game collects and why

Game progress. Your progress (currencies, upgrades, research, cards, goals, events, settings) is saved on your device. A copy is also kept online with Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services) as a backup. For that, the game automatically creates a random player ID with Unity – you don't create an account. Besides your progress, the cloud copy holds the order IDs of your purchases, a random install ID and your phone model.

Signing in. Where the game offers it, you can choose to sign in with Google Play Games, Apple Game Center or Steam, so you can get your progress back on another device or after reinstalling. We then receive that service's player ID and your public player name – never your password – and link them to your cloud copy.

Leaderboards and races. Where the game has leaderboards or competitions, your player name, your results (such as tier, wave and rank) and the random player ID are stored with Unity Technologies and shown to other players. To keep them fair, we check results for cheating and may remove results that break our terms.

Gameplay statistics. To understand how the game is played and improve it, the game sends events to Google Analytics for Firebase about what you do in the game: for example screens opened, runs and waves, upgrades, research, cards, events and their missions, daily goals, settings changed, ads watched and the ad income they bring, purchases (product and price – never your payment details), whether notifications are allowed and which reminder you opened, cloud save results, how smoothly the game runs, and your in-game balances when the game starts. Firebase adds device information (model, operating system version, language, approximate country), a random app-instance ID, your device's advertising ID (unless you have turned it off in your phone's settings) and how the game was installed (for example from which store page or ad campaign).

Crash and error reports. If the game crashes or runs into certain errors (for example when cloud save fails), Firebase Crashlytics sends a technical report (what the game was doing, the error, device model, operating system version, the random app-instance ID) so we can fix the problem. Some errors are also sent as a gameplay statistics event with a short technical message.

Game settings from our server. The game downloads tuning values (for example rewards or difficulty) from Firebase Remote Config, using the random app-instance ID. Some players may get different values as part of a test.

Current time. So that research and daily rewards follow the real time, the game asks our website's server (or Google, if it doesn't answer) for the current time now and then. Like any request on the internet it carries your device's IP address; nothing else about you or your game is sent, and only the time comes back.

Rewarded ads. Neon Tower has no forced ads and no banners: a video only plays when you choose to watch one for a reward. The videos come from Yodo1 (MAS) and the ad networks it works with, such as Google AdMob, AppLovin, Unity Ads, ironSource, Meta Audience Network, Mintegral, Pangle, Liftoff (Vungle), InMobi, Moloco, BidMachine, Bigo Ads and DT Exchange. Yodo1's software also connects to Yodo1's own servers and includes tools for choosing and measuring ads from companies Yodo1 works with. The ad software starts when the game starts, so that a video is ready when you want one. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, these companies use your device's advertising ID, device and network information (such as IP address, device model, operating system and language) and which ads were shown or watched. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and the UK), you are asked for consent before ads are personalized. On iPhone and iPad, the advertising ID is only used if you allow it when your device asks. You can reset or delete your advertising ID and turn off ad personalization in your phone's settings. With the NO ADS purchase you get the rewards without watching any videos.

Purchases. Purchases are handled by the store you got the game from (Google Play, the App Store or Steam). We receive an order ID and the product bought, which the game stores so a purchase is never given twice or lost. We never see or store your payment details.

Notifications. Reminders (research finished, daily goals, and a reminder if you haven't played for a few days) are scheduled on your device; the reminder itself sends nothing. The gameplay statistics record whether you allowed notifications and which reminder you opened.

Feedback. Now and then the game asks if you enjoy it. If you choose to write us feedback, the text you write is sent to us together with the game version, your highest tier, the number of runs you played, your phone model and the game's language, and stored in Google Forms (a Google service). Please don't include personal information such as your name or e-mail address. Whether you answered the question is part of the gameplay statistics; the feedback text never is.

E-mail to support. If you write to us, we get your e-mail address and what you write, and use them only to help you. Our support address is forwarded by Cloudflare to a mailbox with Google (Gmail).

The game engine. Unity, the engine the game is built with, may send basic technical information about your device (such as model, operating system, graphics chip and memory) to Unity Technologies.

Your choices

Your rights

You have the right to get a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict how it is used, to object to how it is used (for example by turning off ANONYMOUS DATA), to get your data in a portable format, and to withdraw a consent at any time. Write to support@neontowergame.com. Because the game doesn't know who you are, tell us your phone model and roughly when you played, and we'll do our best to find your data; if we can't link any data to you, we'll tell you. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, imy.se) or the data protection authority where you live.
